About our church

Welcome to Ninth Street Tabernacle Ministries

Thanks for visiting with us. We hope that you will find something here to encourage you in your spiritual growth. As GOD's church, we are committed to helping each believer find his or her place of service in the Kingdom of God. NSTM's doors and arms are open wide to those who want to discover the joy of loving and being loved by God.
Meet our pastor: Dr. Thaddyeus W. Thompson, Sr. and First Lady Minister Shirley Thompson
Pastor Thompson was born in Taylor, TX. He moved to Altus, OK at a young age. Pastor Thompson completed his education in Altus and moved to Okmulgee, OK to continue his studies at Oklahoma State University. He later received a BS in Family Mediation, MA in Theology and Doctorate in Biblical Counseling. Prior to coming to 9th Street, Pastor Thompson served as a pastor in Okmulgee for 16 years. In Okmulgee he was involved in the community working in the jail system, serving on various boards, and volunteering in the school system. Pastor Thompson looks forward to this new season at 9th Street and in the Paducah community. Shirley Thompson was born in Memphis, TN. She completed her education in Tennessee receiving a BS in Business Administration and Masters in Planning. After completing her education, her employment relocated her to Houston, Odessa, Albuquerque, Oklahoma City, and finally Tulsa where she met and married Pastor Thompson. In Okmulgee she served at the church in the music ministry, administration and in leading women ministries. In the community she was one of the coordinators for the annual Martin Luther King celebration and assisted non-profits in grant writing. Minister Shirley looks forward to working at 9th Street serving the church and the community. The Thompsons have 6 children (1 daughter and 5 sons) - a daughter working in Kansas, City; a son in Saudi Arabia working in Information Technology; a son living in Okmulgee; a son living in Chicago; a son working in Dallas as a basketball coach; and a son working as in Oklahoma City as an Attorney.
Our church mission
"EVERY FAMILY IN STUDY AND MINISTRY" Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive His approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 (NLT)

VISION: Ninth Street Tabernacle Ministries of the Future

We envision a church that is focused on spreading the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people who are unchurched or have been hurt by the church in the past and need encouragement to forgive, forget and return to the Lord. We envision a church where people regardless of skin color are accepted; and a place where we love one another; have a shepherd with a heart for God; is relationship focused and where we learn through our community of believers to encourage, forgive and serve. We envision a church that is a training ground for the Paducah community and will have facilities to accommodate our growth and be accessible to residents of the city. We envision a church that through community service and evangelism will reach a dying world and will grow as a result of our service and evangelism in the community. We envision a church that will always be on the cutting edge as God leads.
